Kenai

Update August.  Kenai has been pulled into foster care.  She will get a lot of running time and more individual attention.  She is still available for adoption through the shelter.

UPDATE March 23rd.  See Strawberry's write up.  These girls are fast.  You want a fast skijor team that would also make good pets to snuggle with in the house?  These are the girls for you.  They are both shy but given confidence and patience should blossom into wonderful girls.

UPDATE March 17th.  See Strawberry's report above.  Kenai was in lead with one of my speedy skijor dogs.  She did great.  She has that houndy bark and really was upset after her run when she saw the next team take off.  She wanted to go again.  She probably has a bit of a shorter stride than Strawberry but we were moving along at a very fast clip.  She was a bit distracted in lead because she has probably never been there and certainly never skijored before.  But overall she has tremendous potential.

Kenai is a 3 year old pointer mix with a very short coat.  She is a sweetheart that is timid but would love to be your skijor or mushing friend.  She would love to hike in the summer also.  She is not high strung but would need some good exercise.  She was turned in because the musher said she was too slow for his team.  I plan on taking her out soon.  I've seen many pointers that have come through the shelter saying they were too slow, but really, they are working too hard and not going fast enough!!!  Some top end speed pointers have come through the shelter.
